TMI aka the Bio

I am a husband and father. I love my wife and my 2 year old, even when he is an avatar of chaos.
As of December 31st, my promotion goes through and I will be General Manager of my own store, which is cool.

My Hobbies

Because of Manifold, I will be playing Savage Worlds as of tonight. I am a gamer. It makes me happy. Other then that, I like working on my car.

My blog

  1. Maybe OK

    07/28/08 12:21:30 | 0 Comments

It turns out it's all good that I am seeing people from my past again.

I forgot how much I have missed some of them. It's also interesting how all of us have grown over the years.

One person who I would never associate with painting has some freakin' amazing stuff. I want a print of one to hang in my study.

Otherwise, it's all good, except the laptop hates me.

  2. Facebook...just odd

    07/23/08 18:18:59 | 0 Comments

It's very odd...I will admit back in college I was dealing with a very self-destructive nature and making life hell for those around me. It wasn't until after college that I discovered such concepts as hygeine and communicating with my fellow human beings (even then, sometimes it is still a struggle).

Facebook has allowed me to find people I both liked and hated during that period, and I wonder sometimes if I revert to form in such instances. I am happy to see people that I...
  3. Destruction of past friendships

    07/15/08 12:01:48 | 1 Comments

I was reading a blog about someone who dated a person with multiple personality disorder.

this really has nothing to do with that, but it made me think of the fact that my best friend and I don't talk anymore.

There was a situation where I had loaned some money to a friend. She asked me not to tell her husband, my best friend, because he would be upset. It was to go toward cancer treatments for her.

Later she said that her electricity was going to get turned...
  4. Everyone Dies

    06/23/08 17:38:28 | 0 Comments

George Carlin got me thinking about this.

I cried soon after my son was born. As I stared at the little baby on the floor before me, all I could think is that participating in giving him life, I have guaranteed his death. It may come 80 years after my own passing, but he will still die.

And I can;t do a damn thing about it.

A friend of mine just lost his father-in-law recently, and commented that we get what everyone gets. We get a lifetime.

    I realize I...
  5. Convention Quotes

These were sent to me by Josh. They are funny.

Eric, on seeing my outfit: "You look like you're getting ready to invade Bulgaria."

Me, later :"I was expecting you and Frederick to be dressed like roadies for Iron Maiden."

  6. The Dad Switch

    03/25/08 08:28:15 | 0 Comments

I sometimes wonder what the heck happened to me.

I used to be the kid that had absolutely no interest in sports, aside from watching the Fighting Phillies with my Aunt Dot. (And rooting for the Raiders - though I didn't watch many games).

Now I was up this morning watching a Red Sox/A's game live from Japan.

Ever since Gavin was born, it's almost as if a switch went off and suddenly I am much less casual.

I'm not sure when all of this...
  7. Gygax

    03/05/08 19:52:42 | 1 Comments

should i be as upset as i am? i mean, it's that important. i'm away at an hr boot camp on a borrowed computer balwing my eyes out over a guy i didn't personally know.

it's just no matter what else was going on in my life, D&D always was something good in my life.

i would have died a long, long time ago without it, either by mmy own hand or by the substances i could never fully get into because i never enjoyed the games as much when on the...
  8. Death of Past

    02/26/08 08:06:40 | 0 Comments

There's a larp called Xanodria. It's not big like Nero (though it isn't an offshoot like most and actualyl developed independantly from other larps - that's what happens when you get a bunch of drunk college students watching Mazes and Monsters, I guess).

I was part of generation 2 or 3, depending on how you look at it.

It's going through a rough patch right now, and I seriously wonder if it will still be around after this year, which has made me sad even...
  9. The destination or the journey?

    02/25/08 09:38:48 | 0 Comments

There has been much discussion on OYT about Dead Levels. No, it is not something from Libris Mortis, but the idea that certain levels are not just interesting to level up in. Yes, 5th level in fighter in D&D 3.x, I am looking at you.

However, that would make almost all the levels of a fighter dead in 1st (and possibly 2nd)edition, plus in games like D6 Star Wars, you just spend some skill points to get an extra +1 in a skill. In 1st edition, though, we didn't care, because...
  10. Birthday

    02/12/08 17:10:57 | 0 Comments

I realized yesterday why you are not supposed to tell anyone your birthday wish.

If your wife asks what your birthday wish was after blowing out your candles (which, by the way, I recommend using the number candles - much easier as you get older), she expects something that includes her in a loving way.

Answering that you wished to be Bucky Kentucky isn't seen as funny to the wife, it just pisses her off.

My Occupation

I am management for Wawa, which is a company based out of the Philadelphia area that believes in doing the right thing. I like the idealism of the company. I like that a company Christmas party charges a canned good (or grocery store gift card) so that they can feed families of Wawa employees going through hard times. I like that Wawa celebrates employees who are selfless.
There's also the simple fact that I am paid more money then I would expect just to run a convenience store...
